Muffin tin lunches

Every once in awhile we have muffin tin lunches. I picked up a couple 6-cup muffin tins for a buck or so. Then, we fill each cup with something for lunch. At least one cup is usually a vegetable, one for dessert (marshmallows or chocolate chips or something), and one is usually a dip or some sort most often peanut butter. The kids sometimes help me decide what to put it, and it does a great job of cleaning out odds and ends out of the fridge. Plus, they eat everything so well! If I want to introduce something new this is a pretty successful way to do it around our house.
Oh and Ben thumbs up with his pointer fingers :)

Glow Bath

We were supposed to go to a bunch of fun halloween stuff today, but my kiddos have the worst colds! So in order to still do something fun, and spend an hour in a hot steamy bathroom to drain their noses we did a glow bath! They had fun making colors in the water. Just used glow sticks from the cheap section of target.

Pumpkin decorating!

For fhe tonight we decorated Parker's and Brooklyn's pumpkins. Kids love it. It was stress free and we will do carving pumpkins closer to halloween.

Jack-o-lantern Grilled Cheese

Sometimes I feel creative for lunch, mostly because it means me kids eat with less fuss!
Basically, just used a cookie cutter and a pairing knife. I found it's easier to cut everything out first then place the cheese on one slice and place it under the broiler to melt, then top with the face piece. That way you get cheesy eyes instead of just holes.

Halloween 1 2 3

I found this free printable book online at www.prekfun.com

I just printed it out in black and white and then colored, cut out, and laminated the pages. Parker and Brooklyn loved the book. Thought I would share!

I also found this don't eat frank game. (Played like don't eat Pete. You put something edible on each square. Have one person leave the room and then pick a square to be frank. The person then comes back in the room and begins eating the food off the squares. When he is about to eat frank, yell don't eat frank! Then fill the squares and play again. So e people play that if you try to eat frank then you get the food on all the squares!) I don't remember which site I got it off, but if you like it, I pinned it and could find it if you wanted to print it out to play. :) we haven't played it yet, but I did this with my students every once in awhile. We are going to play tomorrow.

Painting blocks

So I have been working on a halloween decoration that needed to be painted. I had some extra scraps of wood for the kiddos. I gave them water colors and a brush to use while I used the more permanent paint. They loved it :)
